10/28/2016 0 Comments Future selfI really like this project! this was another art prof dare that i loved. I really enjoyed the creativity we got to have with this project. My idea was that I love reading and writing and want to do that in my future. I did the city because i feel that it would be the perfect place for me. The i made the background the sky and clouds because my future is mysterious just like the sky
10/14/2016 0 Comments Charcoal ProjectThis was our first work of art for 2016, my first art prof dare we did, and the first time i worked with charcoal. I really liked this project because i was able o get messy and it was easy to erase the mistakes i made. I think overall I do like the way my project turn out but I would change how it looks so realist.
10/2/2016 0 Comments Kinetic DrawingFor this kinetic drawing I thought it was very fun. It was kinda messy which i love! i thought this was very cool and i would love to work with charcoal in the future! The hard part of this was that you and your partner had to try and do the same thing at the same time

Mrs. Haggerty Art 6/8/16 YEARLY REFLECTION In the past year i have definitely grown as an artist. I’ve learned to create my own work and put my own touch on my artwork, i find this very important because it helped me learn how to make my artwork mine. Over this year i have developed many art making skills that i never thought i would be able to do. I think my favorite skill that i learned this year was how to do shading because it's very useful and can make your artwork come to life. I’ve been able to communicate through my artwork. I think the time i showed this best was when i did my hunger project. I was able to communicate the message without using a lot of words because my artwork displayed what was going on. When i started this class i struggled alot with taking chances and risks because i was scared i was not going to like the end result. Throughout the year i’ve learned that it's not really the final product that matter it's more the way you did the work. On schoolwork i'm usually more of an independent person. This year in art you taught me how to work with others. I'm a big question asker so when you told us we had to solve our own problems i was scared at first. On the first watercolor piece we did I struggled a lot and you pushed to solve my mistake and finish my work, and i really like the way it came out. I’ve learned to reflex. That not all my artwork is going to be good and that i can always look back and learn from what i did wrong to my my next piece of art even better. Lastly i've learned how to have a global awareness of artmaking, I now know so much more about art itself then when i began this class, from day one till the last day of school i always learn something new every time i step foot in the art room. My favorite project this year was when we did perspective drawing. It was something I had never done before and it was completely new to me. Not only do I think this was one of my more successful artworks but it was also a piece where i kinda found my thing. In my artwork i used a lot of colors and it was a very busy and different piece fromw hat everyone else had done. I think that descricibes me as an artist because I feel as if i am always tryng to use all of the colors and do something different than the other students. One piece that I used skill from a previous project was definitely my calligraphy piece. For this piece I remember not knowing what i wanted to do because I couldn't think of a background. I used my skills from when we did watercolor and started with a watercolor sky and then drew mountains and finally added the calligraphy quote on top. I think this helped he as an artist because i learned that starting with a background and working from things you already know is very important. Overall i think this piece came out very well because of my prior knowledge of watercolor One project that the subject reflected onto me and where i had a personal connection to was my independent project that I am currently working on. I connect with this project in so many ways. First, this project was originally very challenging. Our last unit this year was blackout poetry and I had a very hard time with it. I couldn't figure out how to do it but that did not stop me when I thought of my independent project idea. For my independent project this year I took a 100 page book and recreated it. I took a word or a phrase from each page of this book and created a whole different story, kinda like blackout poetry but more complex. I then painted the book and am in the process of finishing the artwork on the inside pages. The artwork on the inside is very me. I just have been doodling on the empty pages, something that most people know I enjoy doing on my hands and all over my arms. This project is really personal to me cause it incorporates a struggle i had and some of my favorite things, plus it was very different from what everyone else was doing in class. I really enjoyed this class this year, you are my favorite teacher and everytime I walk into the art room my day instantly becomes better. The vibes from the class are just so positive and the way the class is taught is just perfect. 6/13/2016 0 Comments INDEPENDT PROJECT"A voice boomed from a tiny bedroom. She tried to prepare for whatever it was set out to do. She was nine years old and she didn't understand but it wasn't long before she knew what it all meant. "it must have been mama" or so she thought. The voice was a young lady, A girl, a small girl. She was tempted to go away but she had never seen the face of the voice before. She rembers a happy place. She had been making cookies and was simply happy. She hoped she was dreaming but she was not. The voice soon said she should be terrible frightended. A scielence filled the room and she had a new fear. Her life was quiet and lonley. She left the room and everything went down from there. She called into the room and a hush came over the house before the voice set off one final roar. Im here she said. She showed her voice and urged the voice to do the same. She was not going away she said."
